NIC Course at SRI on Nov. 29, 30 Richard W. Watson
SRI-ARC
NIC Course
The Network Information Center is planning to run a course on
the use of its Online System (NLS), including use of the
Journal, at SRI. The dates are to be Nov. 29, 30.
We particularly would like this course to be for Station
Agents or Secretaries who could help others at a site use the
NIC and could transcribe documents or messages into NLS.
Anyone is welcome, however. The only restriction is a limit
of 12 people.
Those desiring to attend should contact Dirk Van Nouhuys or
Dick Watson at (415) 326-6200 ext. 3370 or 2013.
We will be glad to make motel reservations for anyone
attending. We usually use the Mermaid Motel in Menlo Park.

§1Course Content
The Network Information Center planned a course on using its Online System, NLS, including use of the Journal. The course was scheduled for November 29 and 30 at SRI.
The course would teach participants to use NLS and its Journal. It was planned as a two-day event at SRI.
§2Who Could Attend
The NIC particularly wanted Station Agents or Secretaries who could help people at their site use the NIC and transcribe documents or messages into NLS. Anyone was welcome, subject to a limit of 12 participants.
Station Agents and Secretaries were especially encouraged because they could help other users. Anyone could attend if space was available within the twelve-person limit.
§3Contact and Lodging
People interested in attending were asked to contact Dirk Van Nouhuys or Dick Watson at SRI. The NIC offered to make motel reservations and usually used the Mermaid Motel in Menlo Park.
Interested participants could contact the named SRI staff. The NIC could also help arrange motel rooms.
