(Graphics)Information form for the ARPANET Graphics
Resources Notebook:
Attached is a questionnaire about the state of graphics resources at
your site. As per the last Graphics Protocol Committee meeting, we
are attempting to compile such information for an ARPANET Graphics
Resources Notebook.
Please complete the form and return it as soon as possible,
preferably as a NIC Journal entry (making it easier for us to
manipulate the information) to Dave Crocker (Nic Ident: DHC).

§1Collecting Graphics Resource Information
David H. Crocker circulated a questionnaire after a Graphics Protocol Committee meeting. The goal was to collect information about graphics resources at ARPANET sites and compile it in a Graphics Resources Notebook.
Sites were asked to return the form, preferably as a NIC Journal entry, to make the information easier to process.
The working group wanted one collection of information about graphics resources at network sites. It asked sites to send their details back in a format that could be processed.
§2What the Questionnaire Asks
The form asks for an organization's name and host numbers, its local graphics experts, hardware and capabilities, and differences between local and network use. It also asks for default conditions when connecting over the network and for graphics routines available remotely.
Each site was asked what graphics equipment and programs it had, what worked over the network, and who could answer questions.
§3Access and Demonstration Details
The remaining questions cover login and process-start procedures, attention or escape signals, graphics demonstrations and demo accounts. The form also provides space for interests, capabilities and additional comments.
The requested details would help describe how users could reach and try the graphics resources at each site.
The form also asks how to connect, what commands or signals are needed, and whether a site can demonstrate its graphics tools.
