§1A June Traffic Report
RFC 538 attaches the Host traffic statistics for June 1973. The main table is titled Host Throughput Summary (Packets Output). The RFC header says it updates RFC 522.
The document is a monthly count of packets sent by hosts. It covers June 1973.
§2Host and Site Counts
Each host row gives inter-node packets, intra-node packets, and their total. Site subtotals combine hosts at a site and include an average daily inter-node count and the number of days counted. Most entries count 30 days; NORSR is listed for 4 days.
The report marks BELV, ABER and LBL as having no traffic. The rows are output counts, not a description of a protocol.
The table separates packets sent outside a node from packets sent within it. It adds host counts into site totals and reports how many days each total covers.
§3Network Totals
The report lists 70,245,490 inter-node packets and 28,609,780 intra-node packets. Their daily averages are 2,341,516 and 953,659. The average per node-day is listed as 64,802 inter-node and 26,393 intra-node packets.
The table gives the inter-node packets-per-message figure as 1.07. ISI Host 1 has the largest inter-node count among the listed individual hosts, at 10,795,800.
The final lines add up traffic across the network. They show the monthly totals, daily averages, and packets per inter-node message.
