§1The Program Line

RFC 228 is titled “Clarification” and updates RFC 70. It identifies a specific line in the FORTRAN program on page 7 of that earlier RFC: the second statement before statement 20.

This RFC points to one statement in the program printed in RFC 70. It identifies the statement by its position on the page.

The corrected line is N=1. No other change is specified.

§3Scope of the Clarification

The memo contains a single correction to the earlier program. Its header says that it updates RFC 70 and lists no obsolete document. The remaining text includes a note about preparing the RFC in machine-readable form for the online archive.

The clarification is limited to one program statement. The RFC also includes an archival note.
